The main idea behind the program was to teach officers the proper tactics to use during a domestic violence call, for the maximum safety of the officers – and the suspect, the victim, and any hiding children. By using VR surround rendered environments as a positioning and exploration interface, and notation screens similar to the report an officer files, we were able to prepare them for calls with a better situational awareness.
