A new client asked me to create a static interface with a few selections to accessorize a Jeep, consumer touch-screen friendly. So I built this simple demo using Macromedia Director. The client showed it around the auto industry and got interest from Ford Motor Company to see more development. Thereby this was the precursor demo for what later we expanded into an enterprise-level data-driven platform for aftermarket products, called Macro Systems.
Aftermarket Systems was this client's company that sold vehicle protection products like glazes and undercoatings, so here I built an example of how an aftermarket vendor might serve and be served by interactive exposure in dealerships.
Using a design that had ‘curb appeal’ at the time, this was the basic vehicle configuration interface.
